Photographer Barnsley – Photos of 2019

Photographer Barnsley – Photos of 2019

If you’ve come across this blog “Photographer Barnsley – photos of 2019” you must be looking for a photographer around this area.

As I am sat here looking through all the photos of 2019 with my hot chocolate. I am quickly realising how much of a hard job it is to choose, because they are all beautiful. After all, I adore every baby, child and family that I’ve had the pleasure to work with this year. Not to mention, there would be way too many to add to one blog. I have split the blog up into sections so it’s easier to read and look through all the photos.

This year my main focus was newborn, baby and outdoor photography with a small number of first birthday photo shoots. However next year, I am really excited to be a part of many first birthday celebrations. I can’t wait to share them with you.

I would like to say a big thank you to everyone that has supported me and trusted me in capturing beautiful memories.

NEWBORN PHOTO SESSIONS

Newborn sessions here at Anna Kireeva Photography are pretty relaxed. With plenty of tea and biscuits for you to enjoy while I photograph your little bundle of joy.

I concentrate on a more natural approach to newborn photography. This allows me to capture your babies just as they are. With your baby leading the session, I am able to capture more of their personality. Their tiny toes and fingers and how they snuggle into your arms, and all of their natural beauty.

If you would like more information on my newborn sessions click here, or don’t hesitate to contact me.

BABY PHOTO SESSIONS

I can’t express enough how much I adore baby sessions. There are so many laughs to be had during baby and cake smash shoots. Watching funny faces they pull, their laughs and their personalities shining through is amazing. And all the playing, chasing them around the room is a lot of fun. But I’m not going to lie it can also be a fun workout.

I have the same approach to baby sessions as I do to newborn sessions. So, a simple set up, all white studio but with added toys, balloons. And of course cake for first birthday photo shoots.

I will concentrate on capturing your baby playing, exploring, having fun. As well as beautiful portrait photographs that everyone loves, where I capture them looking curiously into the camera.

For more information or if you’re looking to book a baby or first birthday photo shoot please drop me a message, I will be happy to help.

FAMILY PHOTO SESSIONS

Again my outdoor family sessions are quite relaxed, laid back and natural. Using the beautiful backdrops of nature and your family, each photo shoot is unique. All you need to do is choose the time of the year you would like to be photographed. You will see from examples above, the different feel you get from each season.

Outdoor family sessions are perfect for families with children of 2 years and above. They love exploring and running around. So that’s exactly what I encourage throughout the session.

You don’t need to worry about what to wear and how to prepare for your photo shoot. I will guide you from the beginning. With wardrobe choices that work together, what to bring and what to expect.

For more information click here.

I wish everyone a Happy New Year and looking forward to meeting many more babies and families next year.

Perfect Christmas Gifts for Expectant Mums

Perfect Christmas Gifts for Expectant Mums

I’ve been sat here wondering if to add a number to this blog, such as “Top 10 gifts”. However, I am going to take the number out. Maybe I’ll come back to it and add more every year. After all, I’m not sure if you can summarise it down to just “Top 10”. There’s just so many “Perfect Christmas gifts for expectant mums”.

I thought I would start writing about the presents that I would have enjoyed. I must admit, as a previously expectant mum, my head always wondered when asked what I wanted, whilst pregnant. Do I ask for practical gifts or something to treat me and the baby?!

The gift of making memories and lovely keepsakes

Babymoon – this is becoming an increasingly popular gift. Babymoon gift is where you would book an escape for the mum to be. This could be a spa break, a weekend away with afternoon tea or even a weekend abroad. This is an amazing idea and something that a number of friends or family can be involved in too.

Newborn Photo ShootI promise I am not adding “Newborn photo shoot” in just because I am a photographer. In fact I’ve come across many mums who’ve said they would have loved a photo shoot as a gift. There’s nothing better than looking back in time at those precious moments, remembering how tiny they were.

Hand and Foot Casting – hand and foot casting is another way to freeze a moment in time. Capturing wonderfully delicate details, the little creases and wrinkles that will last forever. Creating these memories with a professional is always the best way to go. Marie from Crafty Chops in Leeds has a lot of experience and creates beautiful casts. If you’re looking to gift just a small present. You can also buy little casts to make baby hand and foot prints in places such as Hobbycraft.

Accessories – there are some gorgeous and meaningful accessories for mums to be. Pandora have an amazing collection of charms for expectant mums. You may also find a big variety of accessories on Etsy.

Baby Journal – a baby journal is a really thoughtful gift. A place where you can add photographs and stories of the day you had. Something that will be treasured more and more as the years go by. Claude and Co have some stunning but natural baby journals that are just perfect as a Christmas gift.

Personalised Scan Print Framethis is another thoughtful and beautiful gift. Somewhere to display the first photos of the baby.

‘A Letter to My Mum’ Poem Picturethis is a gorgeous gift that will make any expectant mum tear up with happy tears. A perfect gift to make a mum to be, feel special.

Practical but perfect Christmas gifts

A Maternity Total Body Pillow – as much as this is practical, it’s going to be one of the best gifts. Comfort is everything during pregnancy and getting comfortable at night becomes a real struggle. It’s what we think about a lot during pregnancy, comfort and a good night sleep. I loved using the JoJo Maman BeBe Microbean Maternity Sleep Pillow. However there are plenty more you can purchase in other places including Amazon.

A Feeding Pillow – now this one I guess is maybe a bit strange for a Christmas gift. And you may need to know the person well before you buy it. Not everyone breastfeeds, but from personal experience and friends too, it has been one of the best gifts. They are also used for helping mums hold their babies in the first days, and are super comfortable to use. There is plenty of choice on Amazon.

Gift Vouchers – whether it’s for a super market, a shopping mall or Amazon vouchers. This is a simple but a fantastic gift. You can then be sure that the mum to be will be able to spend it just how she wants.

Groegg – A night light with a thermometer. This is a lovely practical gift to help parents. Not only does it tell you the temperature. The colour of the light changes if the temperature is too low or too high in the babies room. It’s a practical gift but some what luxurious. You can purchase the GroEgg from the company directly or other retailers such as Boots, John Lewis, Amazon and more.

Meal Vouchers – when you first have a baby, thinking of what to cook is the last thing on your mind. Getting a take out can also be costly. Of course we all have chips and other frozen items, but it just doesn’t always do it. Marks & Spencers have delicious ‘Dine in for two’ meals that both mum and dad would enjoy in the first few days of having a baby.  You can also send a gift card from Hello Fresh. Parents can redeem it when they need to (please check if there’s a time limit).

Changing Bag – a lovely changing bag is a great gift. We love our handbags, and changing bags are not an exception. After all, we will be carrying it everywhere on a daily basis. I adore Cath Kidston changing bags, not only are they beautiful but fantastic quality too.

Pampering Gifts

A pampering session – when we are expecting a baby, we sometimes forget to care for ourselves. Our minds are always on growing our baby and treating them before they are even here. If the mum has children already, there is just no time at all to think about being pampered. Buying a pregnancy friendly massage could be exactly what the mum needs. Having a voucher gifted, will certainly persuade any mum to go. You can find a number of independent businesses who provide pampering sessions in and around Barnsley on Treatwell. You may also find many spas in hotels that will provide pregnancy friendly pampering sessions.

Manicure or a Pedicure – this is another lovely pampering gift you could give an expectant mum for Christmas. You can either buy vouchers to visit the salon or book a mobile technician to do a home visit. Just search for local nail technicians around your area.

Hair appointment – our hair does tend to get ruined after pregnancy for a while. A hair appointment voucher would be the perfect present for an expectant mum. She can go treat herself when ever she wants. Tammie and her team at Quiffs and Curls and Bentley’s Hair Salon are amazing if you’re in Barnsley area.

Yoga classes – although it requires a form of exercise, it’s really relaxing and could make a difference during birthing. Not to mention it’s a great way to relieve stress. There are some fantastic ante-natal classes out there. Such as Pre and Post Natal Yoga at Holistic Wellbeing or Mind, Body and Spirit. The NHS website has plenty of other places available too.

Bath oils and creams – there are thousands of oils and creams you could gift this Christmas to an expectant mum. My favourite are, Neal’s Yard and Bloom and Blossom product range. You can choose either individual products or sets.

The good old slippers and pyjamas – all I can say is, I pretty much lived in mine. Every time we got home, the first thing I did was get dressed into my pyjamas and cosy slippers.

Books – reading books is another item many women love during pregnancy. They don’t always have to be pregnancy related. I think I read about 1 per month during my first pregnancy. Getting dressed into pyjamas, climbing into bed with a great book is really relaxing. Not to mention it’s great for the baby too, if you read out loud.

I hope this has given you plenty of ideas for when looking at “Perfect Christmas Gifts for Expectant Mums”.

I would love to hear from you, your ideas and what you think, so please pop a comment below.

October Half Term 2019 Activities

October Half Term 2019 Activities

October half term is just upon us. If you’re anything like me, you’re probably thinking there’s still plenty of time to plan your days out and activities for the busy week off.

I am always on the look out for fun activities and days out, forever scrolling Pinterest and lately Instagram too. We have recently been enjoying a lot of park and woodland walks, collecting conkers and leafs to take home, kids play with them for hours while enjoying a nice hot/warm chocolate, although its me that mainly has the hot chocolate.

In this blog I will be sharing with you some great places to visit and some fun autumn activities you can enjoy with your little ones at home.

Activities we are currently enjoying at home

With so many activities, arts, crafts and baking ideas out there. I’m sure there’s plenty for you to choose from to enjoy this October half term. It can be overwhelming when you are searching for things to do. So I thought I’d include a small number of fun ideas that we are trying out this autumn ourselves. Every year I do try and do something different.

Leafy friends

This has to be one of my favourite activities, I’ve come across so far. The “Leafy friends” are just adorable.

We’ve always loved picking leaves and bringing them home, painting them or making leaf bowls.

Creating “Leafy Friends” is just an amazing idea by Wee Gallery, whom have some lovely make your own ideas on their Instagram page and create some amazing baby/toddler sensory and other products that help your babies development. You must check them out.

All you need for this activity is a paint brush, black and white paint. Some leaves and twigs that you can collect pretty much anywhere this time of year.

Conker Alphabet

This is the first year my little boy has really got into conker picking. He loved it. We came back home with around 100 conkers.

He is also into learning the alphabet. So we decided to paint the letters onto the conkers. It’s his current favourite thing to play with.

Next year we might paint something different. There’s 100s of ideas on Pinterest but if you’re little one is into learning the alphabet this might be just a great idea for you too.

‘Pumpkin’ pizza

Pizza has to be my kids most favourite food, alongside chocolate or sweets.

When I came across this ideas in Tesco magazine, I thought it was genius. Making a pumpkin out of their favourite food, easy and fun to do. If you would like to have a go, they have a step by step guide on how to make it online.

Autumn/Halloween Treats

Baking, although a messy activity, it can be so much fun getting creative in the kitchen. The easier the bakes are for the kids the more fun and stress free it usually is. I do always try and get kids involved in cooking, baking and trying new things from scratch.

The recipes of the halloween biscuits and cupcakes are actually plant based (apart from the Nutella spread that my kids love). We are not vegan in this household but I have learnt that it’s so much quicker to make plant based treats and they are super tasty.

For the gingerbread biscuits check out Bo’s kitchen Instagram page and look for squirrels, her food is not only incredibly beautiful but delicious too. I did have to substitute plain flour for oats but its still as delicious.

The chocolate and peanut butter cupcakes are also a hit with my kids and I can’t get enough of peanut butter icing. The recipe is by Ella at Deliciously Ella, you can find this particular recipe on her YouTube channel. We decided to add an extra autumn flare with some chocolate leaves. We did these in one day and it took very little time.

Pumpkin carving ideas

We usually create the standard scary pumpkin face with the kids, when it comes to carving. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but me being me, I like to do more.

This year we are definitely trying the hedgehogs, I love the stacked up pumpkins. The glow in the dark pumpkins would also be amazing in the window on halloween night. You just need some glow in the dark paint.

You can never have too many pumpkins to carve 🙂 and there’s so many to choose from.

Autumn Wardrobe – What to Wear to Your Photo Shoot

Autumn Wardrobe – What to Wear to Your Photo Shoot

AUTUMN WARDROBE

TOP 3 TIPS ON WHAT TO WEAR TO YOUR PHOTOSHOOT

In this “Autumn Wardrobe – What To Wear To Your Photo Shoot” blog, my aim is to help you understand how to choose what to wear that is comfortable, practical and still looks great. This question does arise all year round and I will be doing a separate blog post for different seasons.

As we head into the second half of September, the nights are getting longer and the leaves will soon be turning beautifully golden, this is my favourite time of the year. Especially now, with the kids, we love pumpkin picking, halloween, as well as all the outings and activities that come with it.

I get even more excited about photographing families in autumn. There are just so many beautiful and colourful locations around. With the addition of a stunning autumnly light, you can achieve some gorgeous family photographs. Not to mention, all the fun the kids have, searching for conkers, finding crunchy leaves to jump in and take home for some fun craft activities.

Below are some tips to help you out when searching for an autumn wardrobe with the family photo shoot in mind.

WHY CHOOSING A COLOUR PALETTE IS IMPORTANT?

The first thing I always recommend is start off with a colour palette. You can choose from 2-4 different colours, they must compliment one another.

The colours that always work well are cream, blue, mustard yellow, brown and burgandy.

You could also use a more neutral colour palette. I have created a Pinterest board here with some great palette examples and autumn wardrobe ideas.

LAYERING UP

During all my shoots, being comfortable and dressed for the weather is essential. No one wants to be outside either freezing or sweating.

With the British weather being so unpredictable, planning what you are going to wear and layering up is an essential part of putting together an outfit. Plus it can be so much fun trying out what you already have with something new. As long as your colour palette works together across all the layers, you’re on the right track. You can then be sure if its too warm you could take your coat off and maybe just have a chunky sweater or a drench coat with a nice top/dress.

Don’t forget you can also layer up using scarfs and hats if its too warm for a winter coat but cold for just wearing a jumper or a drench coat.

WHAT DO I NEED TO AVOID?

Your family is the main focus in all the photographs we create, therefore its important to ensure there is nothing there that would take the attention away from that.

There are two things you need to avoid when looking at what to wear to your photo shoot, in autumn and all year round.

Any clothing with big prints, texts and logos. They are hugely distracting.

Secondly, any miss matching colours or bright/neon type colours, particularly during autumn shoots.

Although the image below or at the side (depending what you are viewing this blog on) was done on a warm day early September. I wanted to show you how simple neutral colours work well together for both a warm evening shoot and a cooler Autumn day, all you need is just a few extra layers.

I hope this blog has been helpful to you. Further down I have put together some clothing inspiration for children three different retailers as an idea from this year. And I can certainly tell so far that this autumns colours are very neutral.

For any more information or if you would like to book an autumn mini photo shoot just leave a comment or drop me a message I would be very happy to help.

Family Portraits Barnsley

Family Portraits Barnsley

If you’ve come across this “Family Portraits Barnsley” blog,  you must be searching for a family photographer in the area. It can be pretty difficult to find the right photographer to capture memories of your family. Not to mention, who has the time to be searching for hours, when you are so busy attending to your family and work. Great news, you’re in the right place!

There are a vast amount of photographers out there who offer different style of family portraits. Let me simplify it down for you.

Studio

Studio photography is where a photoshoot takes place indoors. There may be a natural light source or flash used, both are great, some photographers just prefer one or the other.

You’ll find that a big amount of studio photographers actually operate from home (this is what I have for my indoor sessions). It can be a much more relaxed environment and less scary for the little ones.

Studio photography is quite simplistic, where the focus is all on your family. Some photographers create a more natural style session, focusing on moments, emotions such as laughter and interaction. Others are more posed.

Outdoor

Outdoor photography is very well suited for families. There is plenty of space and you can always find somewhere stunning to capture some amazing photographs using the colours of the UK. Just like studio photography you can achieve a more posed look as well as a more natural style session.

If you have small children over the age of 2, outdoor photography is one I would absolutely recommend. You can truly capture their personalities and laughter, all while they are exploring the great outdoors. Of course you can always get some beautiful posed shots in too. It’s an absolute pleasure being able to capture them having fun and enjoying themselves.

The weather of course can be challenging here in the UK and your photographer will try their best to either work with the weather or re arrange if its just too rainy or too windy or you simply can’t get there due to snow.

Lifestyle

Lifestyle photography is all about capturing you and your family as you are. Documenting a glimpse of your life.

Your chosen lifestyle photographer would arrive to your house and spend maybe a few hours capturing some real life moments, creating a story in the comfort of your home and maybe even the surrounding area.

This however is not suited for everyone. Light is the biggest factor of good quality photos and if some homes have poor natural light quality it may be better to choose a different option. However some lifestyle photographers do use a flash that may help out if the light is not perfect. You can always chat to your photographer and check if this would be an issue to them.

So, these are the main photography styles. I hope this has helped you understand better what you might be looking for when searching for “Family Portraits Barnsley”.

Below I have added some photos of what you can expect from my recent family portraits. I would call my style of photography more relaxed and natural, capturing real smiles and connections. Most of my family portraits are captured outdoors but I also include family photographs with newborns and babies.
